HUGE changes in life

Hi Lovelies!!

Life is flying by me right now.
I am so busy that I feel like I am missing out on enjoying moments through out the day.

Between work, school, and packing/organizing/moving/trying to find a place to live...I'm over whelmed. Yippee:

My parents are moving 10 hours away to Tennessee. It's going to be a rough adjustment to having them be so far away. I have never lived more than three hours away from them before!

How did you adjust to moving away from people you love? Be it moving away to school or just moving in general?

I am REALLY looking forward to decorating/organizing whenever I do actually find a place to live. 💕

Hope you are enjoying your day. Take a moment to enjoy living.

WTJ--I Licked a Book

Wreck This Journal
By: Kerri Smith
I never thought I would ever lick a book. Who would ever do such a thing? Well, I did. I licked a book, on purpose. I have smelled a book, thanks to the invention of scratch n' sniff, felt a book, thanks to baby books with tactile inserts, and seen a book. But, until now...I had never tasted a book.
I first tried Gobstoppers as my 'colorful candy' of choice. That was a fail. They do not produce a colorful trail.
Next choice, was a Ring Pop, blue raspberry flavor. It left some color, as you can see.
My larger discomfort with this idea is that the page is now sticky (gross!). So, the moment I closed the book there was a great chance that the pages would stick together. I cringed at the possibility as I closed the binding.
So far this journey has already taken me outside my comfort zone. Oh, what the rest of this book has to show me!!

Wreck This Journal By Kerri Smith

Wreck This Journal
By Kerri Smith
While browsing through the "What's in Your Bag" group on Flickr, I saw many different people were carrying this book around with them. After doing some research, I found that Wreck This Journal is so much more then a book, or inspirational journal. It is a way to re-think order, organization, media, and artistic desire.
I found it on Amazon, thanks to Amazon Prime, it came in the mail two days after I ordered it, free shipping!
I am really looking forward to this experience. I have always had a hard time with keeping in pristine condition. In grade school, when it came to choosing our textbooks, I always looked for ones that were clean, unwrinkled, and scribble free. So, I am going to work on that with think journey.
I am going to share many of my different entries here. Please keep in mind that this book is written by Kerri Smith. So, what I am sharing with you is created in part by her creative thought.
Hope you become inspired through this experience as well!

The Update

It has been a looong time since my last post. Ooops.
I have done so much and Im not sure where to start.

I got a job that had me traveling across the US in an 'outside' sales position. I was promoting school supplies. It was great fun and I met some wonderful people. Sadly, job only lasted for the 'expo season.' So, I am already done with that.
But, I went to many places and had a great time seeing things I haven't seen before. I was in 4 different states in one day! Also, I got to visit one of my best friends/former roommate and her boyfriend (who I am also close to) while I was in Pennsylvania!!

I am officially going back to school to finish my Journalism degree. Look out NIU here I come! I am going to finish that degree no matter how many obstacles I have to overcome. After all, I am only on my second university and third major. Something is bound to go right at some point!

I think the master bedroom is going to feature navy blue and silver with a 'pop' color.
So add to all of that, I have been traveling back and forth between Milwaukee, WI and Sycamore, IL because my boyfriend, Rich, is back living in WI. He has a great job there as an electrical engineer. He is currently in the process of selling his current house and buying a nicer one that he and I looked at.
We have been really busy doing all different kinds of 'home repairs'. I have been painting like crazy. Rich and his brother have done a lot of landscaping.

These stools would be amazing at the new island.
I am excited about the new house. I get to decorate!! Since I will be the one painting, I get to choose the colors. Hehe. If only the boys knew what I have in store. Hehe.
The house has 4 bedrooms, master suite, 2.5 bathrooms (not including master), sun room, shaded backyard, and three car garage (basically the reason the BF is buying the house).
So, I will be DIYing/decorating and painting on the weekends and going to school during the week. CRAZY!
Fun Times.

Fox: My Mini Love

This is my adorable, tiny miniature dachshund, Fox. She is the sweetest little girl.
She is a princess, no contest. She requires attention, all the time. When she does not get it, she will 'demand' it. Either by sitting up on her hind legs and 'begging' or 'gopher-ing', tapping you with her paw, or emitting piercing yelps. She is so small (very, very small for a miniature dachshund) she can't hop up on or off furniture, so she is constantly in need of assistance. Which just makes her 'princess-ness' more apparent.
Fox does not like grass. She will run after a squirrel, all distracted; get into the middle of the yard and freeze. Then, prance to the nearest patch of dirt, sidewalk, or anything non-grass. It is a funny sight to see!
Fox has been my lil girl for seven months now. I 'rescued' her from a family in the area who could no longer care for her. She formerly lived with 5 to 6 other dachshunds. She was the lead dog for a blind dachshund, who would bite her ears to be lead around. When I got her, her ears were covered in scabs, her ribs were also poking thru her sides, and she would shiver constantly.
Now, she is treated like royalty. She claimed my faux fur blanket as hers. She loves to burrow in it. Preferably with her body all snuggled and warm, just the tip of her nose sticking out. That's my little dachshund!
I love her so much.
Do you have a pet you adore?

The Umpteenth Blog About Adele

Adele has a great, powerful voice...but don't trust me, just hit play, and listen! If that isn't enough to convince you, she basically lived on stage this year at the 2012 Grammy Awards. She took home six out of the six awards for which she was nominated; including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album.

She has such passion and conviction in her voice. Her song, Set Fire to the Rain, makes me turn up the radio and sing along in the car!! People must think I am crazy if they see me...drumming on the steering wheel and dancing along in the drivers seat.

Her writing speaks so deep to the heart & soul.

I hope she continues to take the music industry by storm.
